STUDENT RURAL HEALTH CAREERS FORUM
SEPT 24th at U of I in URBANA
-What: 
Student Rural Health Careers Forum
-When: 
Saturday, Sept. 24th 10:00 a.m. to Noon (lunch provided)
-Where: 
Medical Science Building, 2nd Floor Auditorium 506 S. Mathews, Urbana
-Who: 
College students, HS upperclassman and anyone who may be looking for a career change.
-Why: With the aging population, there is a growing demand for professionals to work in the rural health arena. Doctors, allied health professionals, and those with business backgrounds in healthcare administration, Medical Billing & Coding and IT, are in high demand. The Forum will help students gain insight on the many careers paths you can take and the best way to get there.
-How: There will be 3 panels consisting of 1) Healthcare Administrators; 2) Healthcare Providers; and 3) Grad Students/Advisors, who will explain what they do, how they got there and then answer questions and provide advice.
-Registration: The Forum is free but registration is required to get a headcount.  Please register online at www.ilruralhealth.org and contact IL Rural Health Association Executive Director Margaret Vaughn217-280-0206 or staff@ilruralhealth.org with questions.  Special thanks to IL Area Health Education Centers (AHEC) for their sponsorship.


Illinois Regional College Fair (ICRF)

The Illinois Regional College Fair (IRCF) is at Parkland on Wednesday evening, Sept. 21. This is an excellent opportunity for our students and their families to shop for colleges. You will be able to:

-Visit with representatives from both in-state and out-of state colleges and universities.
-Learn about programs, campus life, admission requirements. Take questions, get answers.
-Financial aid personnel and school counselors available to answer questions.

When: Wednesday, September 21st, 6-8pm 

Where: Parkland College, Dodds Athletic Center, 2400 West Bradley Ave | Champaign, IL 61821

How: Open to all students and families. Free parking, no admission charge.

Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Fair
If you are interested in attending a Historically Black College or University (HBCU), consider attending the HBCU fair in Danville! There will be organizations that will talk about FUNDING a college experience. There will be organizations that will talk about being an ELIGIBLE STUDENT-ATHLETE in college. There will be organizations that will be giving ON-SITE ADMISSION into their institution, including SCHOLARSHIPS to eligible students. And, of course, there will be colleges and universities present to give information on their institutions.
 
The college fair is FREE and open to the public, however, all students and parents must pre-register for this event.  Registered attendees will be entered for drawings and free prize give-a-ways during the event
